Hyperliquid is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain designed to enable a fully on-chain, open financial ecosystem. It operates on a custom consensus mechanism known as HyperBFT, specifically engineered to meet the demands of high-frequency trading. At its core, HyperCore provides fully on-chain perpetual futures and spot order books, where every action—orders, cancellations, trades, and liquidations—is executed transparently with sub-second finality. The network is capable of processing up to 200,000 orders per second. HyperEVM adds Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility, allowing developers to leverage Hyperliquid’s high-performance liquidity and financial infrastructure as open, permissionless building blocks. HYPE serves as the native token of the network, used for staking to secure the chain, participating in governance decisions, and covering transaction fees.
